Minneapolis Rezoning Commenting Workshop

By CEED, Mar 11, 2023

The City of Minneapolis has opened and encouraged public comment submission for their Land Use Rezoning Study – this study details what buildings and land-uses are, or are not allowed in our neighborhoods. Zoning directly impacts our individual health and the health of our neighborhoods. Zoning has historically played a role in placing unwanted, polluting facilities in low-income and communities of color.

In an effort to gather real-life experiences, concerns, and needs from affected community members, CEED, in collaboration with Community Members for Environmental Justice (CMEJ), is hosting a Rezoning Commenting Workshop. In this workshop, we will:

  • Demystify s the City’s zoning process
  • Engage in critical conversations around our neighborhoods and the impacts of zoning
  • draft and submit comments to the City related to areas of concern and/or support

When: Wednesday, March 15th, 4:30-6pm

Where: Augsburg University, Hagfors Building:

700 21st Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55454 – Room 150A

We hope that you can join us alongside neighbors and community members!
